Press ReleaseAzule Energy and NGC partners inaugurate Gas Treatment Plant in SoyoSoyo, Zaire, 27 November 2025 – The National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels ("ANPG"), and Azule Energy, operator of the New Gas Consortium ("NGC"), announced the official inauguration of the Gas Treatment Plant in Soyo, province of Zaire.The NGC project is Angola's first non-associated gas development, with a processing capacity of approximately 400 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd) and 20,000 barrels of condensate per day. Gas is sourced from the offshore Quiluma and Maboqueiro field platforms and supplied to the Angola LNG plant for export.The gas plant entered the commissioning phase with gas-in in November 2025, marking the beginning of operations for the NGC project - achieved just 24 months after the groundbreaking ceremony in October 2023 and six months ahead of the sanctioned schedule.President of the Republic, João Lourenço, stated that non-associated gas deposits guarantee additional production and offer significant economic and employment benefits, including the construction of a planned fertilizer production unit that will use gas from this plant.Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, noted this is the first non-associated natural gas treatment production project in Angola, reached 6 months ahead of schedule, made possible by Presidential Legislative Decree No. 7/18 (the Gas Law).Adriano Mongini, CEO of Azule Energy said: "Today, Angola takes a decisive step toward establishing itself as a strategic force in the global natural gas market.
